This small nut is not like those good-looking apples, peaches and pomegranates, which hang their colorful fruits on the branches and invite admiration. The little peanuts bury themselves underground and remain unearthed until they’re ripe. If you happen to see a groundnut plant crouching there, you cannot decide at once whether it has fruit or not. You can only know this by getting into touch with it.”
